Determining an OFS’ English Skills – Practical Advice

It’s time for another piece of practical outsourcing advice!

This is one of many installments in this series of tips and advice where I share what I’ve learned about outsourcing—particularly outsourcing to the Philippines.

Let’s talk about English skills.

Over the years, I’ve learned a lot from my OFSs. One of the most helpful things I’ve discovered is a trick for getting a sense of someone’s English skills using just one question.

Yes—just one question. One simple question to help you gauge a Filipino’s ability to communicate with you.

What’s the question? I’ll tell you what it is and explain how it helps you assess an OFS’s mastery of the English language.

I also have a new book that I’m giving away for free—The Outsourcing Lever. It’s all about how I’ve done outsourcing over the years. Get more information here.

Hello, good evening. My name is Aljan C. Espinas. I finished Bachelor of Science in Biology in Central Mindanao I University. I worked as a private teacher for 2 years and I was a former ESL-Teacher for the past two years. I am on the verge of changing my career and willing to earn more new skills, knowledge and practices and to gain more experience about this job. Through my acquired skills and knowledge of English, I am fit for this job and best suited to work in this company for a couple of years. I’m passionate and I can work with less supervision.
