Hiring people remotely is the same as hiring people locally. You have to go through vetting, interviewing, even asking for sample work if needed. You don’t just look at a resume, assume everything you read is true, and hire someone based on a piece of paper.
Going through an agency wasn’t a great experience for me, so I’d advise against it. Yes, they’ll provide someone for you—but they won’t tailor that person to your business’s needs. What matters to them is that they’ve provided you with a warm body.
