Most of the advice on the internet is garbage.
They say that if you love your work, you’ll never work a day in your life. But if you’re a business owner, you can’t just do the things you love.
I’m a programmer, and I enjoy programming. But as a business owner, I knew I couldn’t just do that. As the CEO of your own business, you need to focus on the things that grow your business. You need to focus on making sales and creating marketing strategies.
Hire someone you can teach. Outsource something you’re already good at. Get stuff off your plate so you can focus on growth.
One of the first people I hired was a programmer—back in 2007. Now I have a team of programmers. They’re amazing because they know what I want and what my standards are. I can afford to hire a team because I focused on growing the business.
