Are you feeling overwhelmed by all the skilled remote workers who submitted applications to your job posting on Onlinejobs.ph? We get it! There are tons of talented people on our platform, and that’s a good thing. But with so many applications, it can be tough to find the perfect fit.
This is one of the reasons why we placed a limit of 200 to the number of applications you can receive per job posting. If you receive anything more than that, you probably won’t find the time or the energy to go through all the applications. We want you to get the best value out of your membership, which is to say that we want you to find the best online Filipino specialist for your business.
So what’s the best way to sort through all the applications to find the best skilled remote workers?
The first thing to do is set a goal for how many applications you think you’d be able to have a look at. Think you can handle 30 applicants at a time? Great! Set your job posting to inactive once you get 30 applications. This should give you time to sort through the current batch. If you don’t find your dream VA, you can always turn the listing back on with a simple click of the active/inactive button.
Once it’s inactive, you can then go through the applications and sort them out based on your work standards. Are you okay with the worker using AI? If not, ask them directly. Even if you’re okay with using AI, it’s best to ask them about it too so you’ll see if they can be honest about using AI or not.
But you may ask, is there any way to make the sorting process more targeted? Yes, there is!
As much as you’d like the Hogwarts sorting hat to do this for you, there’s no real magic here.
This part requires some very specific steps on your part:
- Add specific requirements to the job posting, such as writing a specific word or phrase in the subject line of their application. Most employers usually add this requirement in the middle or at the end of the job post. This way, you can be sure that the applicant read the entire job posting thoroughly.
- Place a required number of apply points. This would probably depend on the job role. The more high-level the role, the higher the apply points that should be used on the application. Doing these two things helps you choose at the outset the best applicants who demonstrate keen attention to the smallest details.
The next thing is to get to know these skilled remote workers by asking them questions with answers that can’t be found on their CV or their Onlinejobs.ph profile. This isn’t something you have to do with all the applicants. Remember, you’ve already sorted out the ones that best match your needs by adding specific requirements to the job posting. So build a conversation only with those who have the best potential.
The next part involves weeding out the applicants even further. You may have your own standards for this based on your work ethic and business needs. But the bottom line is, make sure that you ask them questions and ask them to do tests that are relevant to your needs.
