Having freedom is what I wanted to have when I started my business. Like any other business owner, I thought having my own business would mean I had more time to do what I wanted.
Having my own business took more time than my previous job!
So, I outsourced. I tried outsourcing in many ways, and it was always a bust — until the owner of backcountry.com told me to bring my business to the Philippines.
It was a bumpy ride at first. I didn’t have a lot of choices, which frustrated me. That’s when I got the idea. I thought, “Why don’t I create a job board and have Filipino workers create profiles for other business owners to find a virtual assistant of their own?
The rest, as they say, is history.
