Feedback can do so much for people. When people are offered consistent, actionable feedback, they get an idea of their successes and opportunities for improvement.
But of course, there are good kinds of feedback and bad ones. I want to give good feedback so it will have the positive effect I want, not only for my OFSs but also for my business.
Over the years, I have tried different ways to give feedback to my OFSs, and I can say that I’ve found what works best for us.
Filipinos take criticism well and will work to improve, but some would still doubt if they’ll ever be good enough. I prefer to provide positive feedback as much as possible because I am telling my team what they’re doing correctly and should continue to do.
I believe that it’s important to provide good positive feedback to your OFSs. Your OFSs might want in-depth evaluations instead of simple praise. They want to know what and why something they did is good, what is working, and what skills they excel at.
For me, good feedback is:
- Timely,
- Specific,
- Heard directly from you,
- The “Sandwich Method”,
- Reusable.

You must know the situation before you will give a peace of advice of that person. Giving a feedback you need to specify what he/she needs to improve on her skills and etc.
