Once you start working from home, it’s easy to fall into the habit of working in your pajamas.
And there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s one of the perks of working from home. You wear whatever you want. You can wake up 5 minutes before your shift. It’s an enormous time saver.
But the downside this lifestyle is that some of us Filipino online workers have fallen into the habit of not making an effort when it comes to our appearance. When you work from home, it doesn’t really matter what you look like. The bad thing about it is it be a catalyst to start other bad habits that can affect our lives and our careers.
It’s even harder to take care of yourself if you’re a full-time parent. As parents, it’s our nature to put everybody else’s needs first and our needs last. But there’s a reason why on planes they instruct you to put on your mask first before your child’s. You can’t take care of others if you don’t take care of yourself first.
Ads manager and work from home mom Leah, is very aware of this. Despite her busy schedule of taking care of her family, she makes it a point to find time to take care of herself. Working from home should give you more time for self-care. Looking good even when you’re at home makes you feel good and be better, as an individual and as a professional.
Are you already a work at home mom? What self-care habits do you think we Filipino virtual assistants should prioritize?
