Most businesses fail. That’s the plain honest truth. Even though most of us want to have our own businesses, some don’t even try. And most those who do try to start a business often quit as soon as they fail.
What separates successful entrepreneurs from those who failed is persistence. If you persist, there’s a big chance you will succeed, eventually. BUT if you want to succeed faster, you have to do more than persist, you have to be smart about your business.
Elesha survived 3 failed businesses. This time, she was determined to never go through that again. She was determined to succeed this time. And that’s when she started outsourcing to Filipino virtual assistants.

My journey as an aspiring business owner was plagued with 3 failed attempts before I was able to make it happen. This adventure has helped me to grow personally by training my relationship building and professional communication skills.
A big part of my everyday wins has been task distribution. Yes, there are tons of automation tools out there…. As I have learned, through other employers and my own experience, nothing beats the REAL human resource. And nothing has been so rewarding as building and cultivating our team(s).
In 2012, I read Tim Ferris’s, The 4 hour work week. It sited onlinejobs.ph and I jumped to go check it out. Little to my surprise, my other friends in the same industry have used OnlineJobs.ph too. ( I thought I was so awesome and innovative, they quickly humbled me back into focus. )
My first VA was Gus. He handled my tedious daily accounting tasks and saved me at least an hour per day. After this freeing experience with him, I searched for more awesome help, this time stateside.
My second full time hiring experience was with a US employee that burdened me with their personal challenges and scheduling issues. Constant lateness and a lack of communication. ( I actually tried to hire in the US twice.)
In 2015, quickly went back to onlinejobs.PH and met Ivy. Ivy who is a CCNA (translates to Computer ninja ).
“My Ivy” became a symbol of stability and growth. She provided what every employer dreams about.
- Consistent
- Loyal
- Stable
- Focused
- Happy
- ALL IN employee that supports the overall growth of our company no matter what direction or project that we are working to achieve.
Ivy has helped me grow and shrink teams, organize projects, travel, accounting, client communication. When I got sick, she ran almost everything for me
Ivy has hired her best friends and now husband to work part time.
We continue to hire using onlinejobs.ph and have made some excellent new hires too.
Our process to hiring contractors includes a one week trial period. For them to work on our reporting. If they can follow this task then we believe they can be trained on almost anything in our business.
The things that hiring VA s have helped me the most with are:
- Speaking too quickly
- Not defining tasks clearly
- Blowing up when mistakes are made
All self improvement strategies that have helped me both personally and professionally. All things that helped us create more success for others and our team.
Masters Data Research’s wins show up everyday with increased productivity, human support and allow all of us to shine as a growing company. Did I mention our team is also funny ? I know that’s not a function of business. It is essential for us and it helps us enjoy our work more.
Thanks Onlinejobs.ph ! You have helped us grow, supported us while we cried… and more importantly, helped us laugh and smile.
