I recently received a video from Aaron Hall, an attorney for business owners and entrepreneurial companies, and provides these educational videos to help business owners improve their companies, avoid legal pitfalls, and really grow their company and their lives to success. And guess what, he outsources!
In fact, the video he sent was not really for me, but for business owners like you who want to outsource but are not yet ready to take the plunge.
Now, I’m not going to sugarcoat it – outsourcing can be a bit of a bumpy ride at times. Aaron’s team has been outsourcing to the Philippines for over 14 years now, and they’ve definitely had their fair share of ups and downs. But despite the challenges, Aaron is a big believer in outsourcing to the Philippines.
For Aaron, being a lawyer, the major concern is data security. If you’re running a business where confidentiality is key – like a law firm, for example – you might worry about how to keep your information safe when working with remote employees in another country.
I get it – it can feel risky to entrust your sensitive data to someone you can’t physically see or control. But here’s the thing: with the right protocols in place, outsourcing to the Philippines can actually be just as secure as working with someone in your office.
So, what are those protocols? Well, for starters, it’s important to carefully vet any Online Filipino Specialist you’re considering working with.
Once you’ve chosen an OFS you feel you can trust, it’s crucial to establish clear communication and boundaries from the get-go. Make sure your OFS understand what data is confidential and what isn’t, and be sure to implement robust security measures like two-factor authentication, VPNs, and firewalls to keep your information safe.
Another common concern with outsourcing is quality control. After all, how can you ensure that your remote team is producing work that meets your standards, especially if you can’t be there to oversee their work in person?
Again, communication is key here. Set clear expectations and deadlines for your remote team, and be sure to check in regularly to provide feedback and make adjustments as needed. It’s also a good idea to use project management tools like Trello or Asana (we use Basecamp) to keep everyone on the same page.
So, to sum it up: outsourcing to the Philippines can be a bit of a rocky road at times, but with the right OFS, protocols, and communication channels in place, it can also be an incredibly effective way to scale your business, reduce costs, and tap into the great talent pool that the Philippines has to offer.
